As the rainy season begins in earnest, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo emphasized the need for frequent community outreach to educate the residents on how to keep their homes and loved ones safe from dengue and the clear and present danger of COVID-19 transmission.
Personnel from the City Health Office, Philippine National Police, CDRRMO and PIO conducted house visitation and information drive this time in Barangay Banilad yesterday with Punong Barangay Dondon Maquiling on the twin threats facing our city: dengue and COVID-19.
The team led by City Health Officer Dr. Ma. Sarah B. Talla engaged with the residents, checked on the health conditions especially of the children and elderly and dispensed multi-vitamins and medicine following consultations.
The residents were asked to keep their homes and surrounding clean and free of potential breeding grounds for dengue carrying mosquitoes. They were also asked to practice social/physical distancing, wearing of face masks and to wash their hands regularly.
This activity is a regular IEC and community outreach of the City Government for the constituents with increasing frequency to educate and save lives.
