Eight (8) individuals, 4 of them OFWs, are quarantined beginning today joining the 149 other Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs at the different isolation facilities of the city.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases that 12 individuals completed today the 14-day mandatory quarantine without any medical incident, thus released and cleared to even return to work.

The 8 new PUMs are: 4 OFWs from Saudi Arabia, Hongkong, Oman and from the Netherlands; 1 police officer; a salesman; a student from Japan and a 24 year-old female.

They are now in strict isolation and continuously examined by health workers.

Of the 157 PUMs: 70 are in designated hotel facilities, 36 are in the community isolation center while 51 are on home quarantine or in barangay isolation centers.

Only one of the 157 PUMs examined showed signs and symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
