The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF EID), chaired by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, in a special meeting, Tuesday, reviewed the applicable protocols as the city shifts to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Members of the Task Force noted the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases in nearby Cebu and Metro Manila and reiterated the need to lower or prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19 in the city.

Thus, there is an urgency to regulate, as part of local health protocols, the entry of Locally Stranded Individuals, Returning Overseas Filipinos, Authorized Persons Outside of Residence and other returning residents that they are properly documented, COVID-free and given appropriate accommodations to also prevent overwhelming the public health system and health workers.
