Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force COVID-19, ordered the preparation of additional isolation centers for Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) and Persons Under Investigation (PUI) considering the return of OFWs and Locally Stranded Individuals who must undergo the mandated quarantine.

City Schools Division Supt. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde approved the request of Mayor Remollo to utilize some school buildings in the Dumaguete City High School to shelter the PUMs and possible PUIs.

Dr. Elejorde City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and Dumaguete City High School Alden Rabina conducted ocular inspection of the buildings to be converted as isolation center, Wednesday. The rooms will be cleared and provided with amenities.

The City Government will provide basic necessities and 24-hour medical service for those confined at the city’s isolation center while those who will choose to be in a hotel will shoulder the expenses while the will deploy medical workers to monitor their state of health.
