City officials led by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force COVID-19, inspected the community isolation center with 40 cubicles ready to accept Persons Presenting Influenza-Like Illness (PPI) at the City High School Gym.

Mayor Remollo said that the center has complete amenities to serve the basic needs of PPI who will be monitored 24/7 by personnel from the City Health Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Present during the ocular inspection are Vice-Mayor Alan Gel Cordova, Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Joe Kenneth Arbas, Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Agustin Miguel Perdices, Bernice Elmaco, Rosel Erames and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla said that at present no person under monitoring has exhibited Influenza Like Illness and there a no more PUMs in 22 of the 30 component barangays in the city.

Nevertheless, Mayor Remollo is optimistic that if the public will continue to cooperate with the authorities by following the stay-at-home policy of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, the city will remain free from local transmission of COVID-19.
