Non-residents in last minute shopping
Residents from neighboring towns flocked to Dumaguete City to shop for food items and goods as well as to access essential services before the culmination of the Holy Week.
It should be noted that non-residents from San Jose, Sibulan, Valencia, Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita and Siaton can only enter Dumaguete City on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Hence, these non-residents who flocked to the city’s borders had to transact and buy goods today, Tuesday, before stores and business establishments close on Thursday in observance of the Holy Week.
However, elsewhere in the city, including in the barangays, streets are cleared of traffic as many residents complied with the general rule for them to stay at home.
Authorities in the borders had to inspect and implement the measures required for all those coming in to include the wearing of face masks and helmets, thermal scanning and inspection of quarantine passes and licenses.
