In order to minimize the places and occasions of convergence of large crowds, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo orders the temporarily closure of the Paunay in Barangay Bagacay and Tabo sa Banay in Barangay Daro beginning Monday until further notice.

Meanwhile, the city’s public market is also ordered to shorten its business hours, which shall now be from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is in addition to the policies earlier adopted like the mandatory use of face masks for both sellers and buyers as well as regulation of the number of clients allowed inside the market complex at any given time.

The specific provisions of Executive Order No. 18 signed by Mayor Remollo are the following:

Section 1.Dumaguete City Public Market’s hours of operation shall be shortened from 5 o’clock in the morning until 3 o’clock in the afternoon. All market stall holders are to strictly observe the schedule.
Section 2. Enjoin all vendors/stall holders at the satellite market/paunay in Barangay Bagacay and Tabo sa Banay/Paunay at Barangay Daro in Dumaguete City to cease operation temporarily.
These additional precautionary measures are adopted to eradicate or minimize the possible transmission of COVID-19 in the community.
