“To those who refuse to see what the government is doing for them, shutting up is already a big help.”
The City Government sincerely thanks those who have donated food and other items to the volunteers of our 24/7 crisis management center, our working sector, whose incomes have been affected.
It’s time to close ranks and help.
It’s time to work together not find fault in one another.
Unfortunately, there are still Facebook bashers who are still on the loose.
These people either do not understand or refuse to understand the nature of the problem.
Our situation in Dumaguete City is different from that of Metro Manila where overcrowding was the norm.
There IS NO CONFIRMED case of local transmission in Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental despite the fact that Dumaguete was the host of the first two cases of COVID-19 brought in by WUHAN couple January 21, 2020.
In short, because of effective tracing the virus did not spread. No suspension of work or classes was even made at that time. The City Government cannot shut down (but we limit the number of employees because of staggered work hours).
Because people expect US to deliver the basic services.
The people who are complaining now would be the first persons who would go berserk if we fail to deliver the basic services to their standard.
We have directed all work places (public and private) to observe the protocols of hygiene and social distancing. It might also be for the common good if these people observe “political distancing”.
Bottom line we don’t expect accolades from these people for the things that we do for them.
They are the same critics of government with or without COVID-19.
Some of the industrious health workers have this to say: “To those who refuse to see what the government is doing for them, shutting up is already a big help.”
