Fourteen basketball teams representing their respective Motorcabs for Hire Associations are competing for the championship of the Inter-MCH Basketball Tournament to be held every Sunday at the Dumaguete City High School Gymnasium.

This is the 3rd year of the tournament initiated by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo for the city’s tricycle drivers to engage in sports and wellness activities at least once a week from February to April as a healthy exercise and for the drivers to socialize with their fellow workers.

City Sports Coordinator Ike Xavier Villaflores, City’s Sectoral Desk Officer Albert Aquino and City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla represented Mayor Remollo during the simple opening ceremony at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex.
Dr. Talla took the opportunity to remind the players on how to avoid serious injuries considering some of them are already of advance age; lectured the participants on how to keep themselves health and safe from coronavirus infection and good grooming especially that they are among the frontline service providers of tourists and guests in the city.
