Former Clark Development Corporation President and CEO now Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo joins the officers of the Liga ng mga Kagawads as they tour the New Clark City Aquatics Center, the venue of the aquatic events during the recently concluded Southeast Asian Games and the upcoming ASEAN Para Games and Asian Swimming Championships. Dumaguete City under the administration of Mayor Remollo will invest in an Olympic size swimming pool to be used hopefully in time for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Schools Games that will be hosted by the city and province of Negros Oriental this November 2020.

Mayor Remollo also met with his successor incumbent President and CEO Noel F. Manankil as they reminisce their time when they worked together in making the vision for Clark Freeport Zone into an important modern hub for business, leisure and sports tourism in the country that increasingly attract international events and multi-national companies.

In 2018, Dumaguete City was Runner-up as Sports Tourism Destination of the Year next to eventual winner New Clark City in Pampanga. It should be noted that Mayor Remollo focused in promoting sports tourism program when he served as President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation.

The Liga visit in New Clark City Sports Hub is part of the educational tour of the barangay kagawads to appreciate the prestige and economic benefits that Dumaguete City will earn if it invests in sports tourism programs and events.

Among the Kagawads who are in the trip are Liga President Marife Cordova of Piapi, Marjorie Gewan of Taclobo, Alma Sayre of Calindagan, Lionel Richie Nuay of Talay, Clark Labi of Piapi, Michael Pepico of Daro, Choy Gallarde of Bajumpandan, Noel Ramirez of Bajumpandan, Saulo Paul Baybay of Tinago, Robert Duterte of Poblacion 8, Ramises Flores of Batinguel, Jorge Paloma of Calindagan,Reu Ismil of Bajumpandan, George Balongag of Looc and Rolando Lazalita of Taclobo.
