Members of the City Council and Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo present the Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution Recognizing the achievement of the city’s favorite and highly regarded Supreme Court Associate Justice Edgardo De Los Santos in simple rites at the session hall this afternoon.
Councilor Lilani Ramon the main author of the resolution lauded 67-year-old Justice De Los Santos on his appointment and for reaching the pinnacle of his success in the judiciary, which serves as a manifestation of the long-standing principle that “hard work and perseverance will pay off and the virtues of humility, sincerity, patience will define a person’s character.”
Justice De Los Santos, who come from humble beginnings, stressed that he considers Dumaguete City his home for three decades, a place that nurtured him and his family as well as provided him with their necessities and luxuries.
He considers the resolution of commendation from the City of Government of Dumaguete not only as a badge of honor but also a symbol of his responsibility to continue being a role model to all public officials.
Vice-Mayor Alan Gel Cordova and the councilors present took turns in expressing their pride in his success and honor of knowing Justice De Los Santos as a paragon of judicial excellence.
The Resolution Recognizing the achievement of Justice De Los Santos was signed by Mayor Remollo, Vice-Mayor Cordova, Councilors Karissa Faye Tolentino-Maxino, Manuel Sagarbarria, Joe Kenneth Arbas, Michael M. Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Agustin Miguel Perdices, Bernice Anne Elmaco, Lilani L. Ramon, Manuel C. Patrimonio, Rosel Margarette Q. Erames, Liga ng Mga Barangay President Dionie Amores and Sangguniang Kabataan Le Marie Danielle Tolentino.
