All the 1,017 public school teachers under the Dumaguete City Schools Division will each receive P 2, 500 as bonus in recognition for their industry and sincere service to their students and the community as whole.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo announced the incentive during the recent Year-end Education Awards Night of the City Deped led by Schools Division Supt. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde.

On Friday, the City Council the appropriation ordinance authorizing and funding the incentive in the total amount of P 2.5 million.

The amount of annual bonus or incentive for the public school teachers has increased over the years.

Regular and casual employees of the city government will also receive their Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) on or before December 20, 2019.

The Administrative Order No. 19 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte excludes job order workers, pakyaw and contractual for there is no basis in found in the law.

Nevertheless, Mayor Remollo also shared that as part of Pamaskong Handog, the city government will grant P 500.00 cash gift to each of the 30, 000 senior citizens, PWDs and indigent families in the city as verified by the City Social Welfare Development Office.
