Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary for Consumer Protection Group Atty. Ann Claire C. Cabochan pays a courtesy call to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo yesterday as they discuss updates on how the agency can help entrepreneurs grow and expand their investments while enhancing protection for the consumers through information, education and advocacy drives.

Dumaguete City is home to more than 10, 000 business establishments, which immensely contribute to the growth of the local economy.

In 2018, Dumaguete City was conferred with the distinction as second ranked component city in Government Efficiency among all component cities in the Philippines by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
As part of Dumaguete City efforts to nurture small and medium enterprises, a Negosyo Center was established with DTI to provide basic services namely: business registration assistance; business advisory services; business information and advocacy; and monitoring and evaluation of business-process improvement.
Mayor Remollo also enhanced the Business One Stop Shop or BOSS to assist all entrepreneurs, big and small, to experience ease in doing business in Dumaguete City.
