Both the provincial and city government have thrown their support to the hosting of the WBC Muaythai world championships on June 29 billed as the biggest Fight Show in the Visayas –MANO-MANO: Fight to Unite to be held at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex.
The event will feature top kickboxing and Muaythai fighters from Bacolod, Cebu, Davao with a WBC Super Flyweight Championship fight between Dumaguete’s undefeated Romnick Pabalate (15-0) against Detnarong “Tong Po” Omkrathok of Thailand.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded Promoter Ed Dames, a longtime friend, for bringing this international event to Dumaguete City, which reinforces its image as the best sports destination in the country, second only to Subic.
Asian Gold Medalist, Romnick”Leon Kilat” Pabalate will headline the event with his bout against Omkrathok while co-main event will feature Pamplona MMA fighter Arvin “Asintado” Chan vs. Chun Seongjin of South Korea.
Eight other matches round-up the exciting card sanctioned by WBC Muaythai Philippines and supervised by the Games and Amusement Board with fighters from Cebu, Leyte, Ilo-ilo, Bacolod, Baguio, Batangas and Pangasinan.
