John Mathroven Erolon of Dumaguete City took home the three-point shootout title after finishing with 33 points during the All-Star festivities of the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) National Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

Playing under coach Butch Alexander Waleson of the SLS-Don Bosco banner, the Asian College marksman was as good as advertised. Erolon led all snipers in the first round with 17 big points. Ethan Galang and Jeric Palma joined Dumaguete’s own in the final round.

During the final frame, Erolon never seemed to cool off as his waxing hot shooting genes gave him 16 markers, enough cushion to keep opponents at bay.

The Talay-native has been on a tear in the NBTC finals, shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc.

The erstwhile Junob High School star surely turned heads among basketball scouts in the building.
