Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo pays tribute to the the sacrifices and role of the women folk in the family and community as the city joins the nationwide celebration of the National Women’s Month with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women.”

Yesterday’s conduct of Women’s Summit was spearheaded by Councilor Lilani Ramon, Judge Maria Angelita A. Banta-Alcoran, Fiscal May Flor V. Duka, Fiscal Lalaine Erames-Cimafranca and other advocates.

Mayor Remollo assures that his administration will continue to support all pro-women projects and activities including the appropriation of funds to relevant programs with the support of the City Council through Councilor Lilani Ramon.

According to the Philippine Commission on Women, this month-long celebration “shall focus on strengthening efforts to improve and track the progress of implementation of the Magna Carta of Women (MCW), and other relevant laws and commitments to the international community such as the Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
