Both Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and City Schools Division Superintendent Evangel Luminarias expressed sincere gratitude to the family of the late Dr. Agaton Pal for the donation of a one-hectare lot adjacent to Batinguel Elementary School.
The donor was represented by Primeparis G. Pal and journalist Alex Pal during the signing of the donation papers, Tuesday, before hundreds of grateful pupils, parents and teachers.
Mayor Remollo commended the Pal family and vowed to assist in the realization of the donation for the opening of a Technical Vocational School for senior high students. He also promised to provide a covered court for school events and especially as shelter during calamities.
Dr. Luminarias lauded the Pal family for the selfless act worthy of emulation.
The donated property could actually be sold in millions but the children of Dr. Pal namely Aurora Pal Montaño, Calinica Fe Pal Roleda who reside in the United States of America and Primeparis, who lives in Dumaguete decided that the best way to honor the memory of their philanthropist father is to facilitate the lot donation.
Also present during the event were: Assistant Schools Division Supt. Neri Ojastro, CID Chief Dr. Juditha Mapue, SGOD Chief Dr. Nelson Caday, Mr. Jose Miraflor Jr. and Batinguel Elementary School Principal Barsilisa B. Patrimonio.
To the Pal family, may your tribe increase!
