The City Government of Dumaguete commended the seventeen local triathletes after they completed the iconic Century Tuna IRONMAN race held in Subic Bay last June 3, 2018.
According to Councilor Michael Bandal, a triathlete himself and author of the City Council Resolution of Profound Gratitude, Commendation and Recognition, the race requires the participants to continuously swim 3.8 kilometers amidst strong currents, bike 180 kilometers under the blistering sun and in conclusion a grueling 42.2 run for a total of 226 kilometers.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo extends his warm congratulations to the 17 triathletes namely Irwin Noel Ramas-Uypitching, TriOne President Recardo Cordova, Chef Ritchie Armogenia, Dr. Simon John Eric Flores, Kirk Libo-on, Coach Dionesio Pinero, Ramjay Divinigracia, Ruel Dales, Irwin Lacnit, Engr. Joel Sibul, Carlo Teves, Homer Pamorca, Harold C. Piñero, Ian Lopez, Fernandez Maquiling, Rodolfo Placencia and Glenn Gonzales.
The City Council Resolution was signed by Mayor Remollo, Vice-Mayor Franklin Esmeña Jr., Councilors Alan Gel Cordova, Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Miguel Agustin Perdices, Estanislao Alviola, Jose Victor Imbo, Joe Kenneth Arbas, Lilani Ramon, Michael Bandal, Manuel Arbon, Manuel Sagarbarria and Lionel Banogon (Liga ng mga Barangay President).
