Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo counsels the city’s 214 scholars to be industrious in their studies, avoid any vices particularly illegal drugs and cultivate successful careers.
In his remarks to the general assembly last Saturday at the session hall, Mayor Remollo says there is a need to revisit certain provisions in the ordinance providing financial assistance to deserving college students so they could fully avail of the P 12,000 allocation per student every school year.
Councilors Lilani Ramon, Karissa Tolentino and Manuel Arbon are also open to making changes to the college student assistance program to reimburse the students of their tuition,expenses for uniforms, fare, field trips, internship, thesis making and other miscellaneous provided they will not exceed the allocation per semester and summer.
The scholars and their parents clarified before Mayor Remollo, the councilors, CSWDO Head Carola Alquero and PESO Manager Socorro Mira certain situations and other requirements so they can get the reimbursement of their expenses.
Mayor Remollo also vowed to expand the program,as the means of investing in the youth so that more college students will be given the opportunity to secure a bright future for themselves and their families.
