Thousands jammed the Pantawan in Rizal Boulevard as cultural dance troupes from 14 countries and 25 regional groups from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to witness their performance at the conclusion of the 4-day Philippine International Dance Festival hosted by Dumaguete City.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Board Member Mariant Escano Villegas, City Tourism Officer Jacqueline Veloso-Antonio and Dance Xchange Founder Shirley-Halili-Cruz acknowledged the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and all the participating groups for providing the local, national and international audiences with quality and exquisite dance routines that were rooted in the traditions and culture of their home countries and regions.

Fourteen foreign (14) countries were represented by their respective cultural dance groups: China, Indonesia, England, Korea, Hongkong, Bangladesh, Malaysia, India, Hawaii, Russia, Poland, Thailand, Japan and Turkey. While about 25 participating dance groups coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are also represented.

Besides the workshops, the various local and international dance troupes will conduct outreach performances not only in Dumaguete City but also in the neighboring towns and cities.
