Councilors Lilani Ramon and Alan Gel Cordova urged all Barangay Officials to strengthen their respective Barangay Anti-Drugs Abuse Councils as the means to attain a drugs-cleared community.
City Local Government Operations Officer Aquilina M. Eltana discussed various strategies to minimize if not eradicate illegal drugs activity in the barangays. She reiterated the primary responsibility of the barangay officials in the war against illegal drugs.
City Chief-of-Police Supt. Jonathan Pineda enumerated the gains of the anti-drugs drive in the city while City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla introduced the community-based rehabilitation program.
To date, the three barangays declared to be drugs free are Poblacion 4, Poblacion 5 and Poblacion 6. Three more barangays namely: Motong, Poblacion 3 and Poblacion 6 are undergoing assessment by the DILG, PNP and Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency as the the next set of confirmed drugs cleared barangays.
