Dumaguete Dragon Boat Challenge Opens!

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led local officials in welcoming the 18 teams from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Hongkong during the simple opening rites at the Rizal Boulevard this afternoon.

The 2018 Dumaguete Dragon Boat Challenge attracted 18 local and guest teams including UMAGU Teams A and that will compete in Open, Mixed and Women categories at the Rizal Boulevard this weekend.

The other teams are Leyteños Paddlers, Hilera, Siete Dos Maribojoc Dragon Paddlers, Sta. Monica Bull Frog, Tacloban Salties, Metro Dumaguete Paddlers, Essencia Blue Sharks Paddlers, Hongkong Canoe Union Dragon Boat Team, Philippine Titans, Metro Dumaguete Paddlers, Twin Paddlers, Pen C Fitness Dragon Boat Team, Manila Dragon Boat and Rowing Team, Tambobo Bay Paddlers, Grupo Habagat, PNP Maritime and the homegrown Dumaguete Yellowfins of Barangay Calindagan.

City Councilor Alan Gel Cordova, Councior Michael Bandal, City Tourism Officer Jacqueline Antonio, City Youth and Sports Development Coordinator Ike Xavier Villaflores and Jonne Go of the Philippine Canoe Kayak Dragon Boat Federation were present to welcome the teams to the event.
