Consul General Shi Yong of the People’s Republic of China (2nd from right) paid a courtesy call to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo in a bid to further cement the close and healthy relationship between the two countries for the benefit of the two peoples.

Yong noted the increasing number of Chinese tourists who visited the city, estimated to have reached 57, 000 in the past two years. The Consul General thanked Mayor Remollo and the city officials present Councilor Lilani Ramon, Assistant City Administrator Dinno Depositario and local entrepreneur Elsie Lee for providing the Chinese nationals safe and enjoyable stay while in the city.

Yong told Mayor Remollo that the Chinese government is very sincere in maintaining strong working relationship with the country not only on tourism, trade and cultural exchanges but also in the fight against terrorism. China sent construction materials and equipment for the rehabilitation of Marawi City.
