British Envoy at home in Dumaguete City

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and British Ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Robert Pruce discuss possible areas of cooperation in the field of education, tourism and business.

“Ambassador Pruce can help promote the city as a tourist destination and retirement haven for British citizens,” Mayor Remollo said.

Both officials noted that hundreds of Filipinos are already working and holding top positions of multinational companies in London and Great Britain.

Mayor Remollo also praised the transparency of the British government that allows legislators in Parliament to directly question the Prime Minister on policies and decision made by the government.

Councilors Alan Gel Cordova, Manuel Arbon, Joe Kenneth Arbas and Lionel Banogon joined Mayor Remollo in the welcome ceremony and subsequent meeting.

The British envoy is the 5th diplomat to pay a courtesy call to Mayor Remollo in the course of their visits to the city. Previously, the envoys of Singapore, South Korea, Iran and the United States of America also met with Mayor Remollo to strengthen the cooperation between the city and their countries.
