City hall random drug tests for officials and employees begin

Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, Councilors Alan Cordova, Joe Kenneth Arbas and Michael Bandal led LGU officials and employees in undergoing a random drug test supervised by the City Anti-Drugs Abuse Council, Department of Interior and Local Government and Philippine National Police.

The gesture of the elected officials is meant to underscore the fact that no one will be exempted from the tests, which will be comprehensive, random and unannounced.

Mayor Remollo stressed that the random drug test is in support to the advocacy of President Rodrigo Duterte and to ensure a drugs-free work place.

Those found positive of substance and illegal drugs abuse after confirmatory tests will be directed to undergo rehabilitation, which may be the condition for continued employment.
