Many of the seized motorcycles were apprehended during a series of checkpoints by the Philippine National Police and Traffic Management Office to instill discpline in the streets and to increase the visibility of law enforcers as part of the intensified anti-crime drive.
City Chief-of-Police Supt. Jonathan Pineda vowed a sustained implementation of checkpoints to constantly remind motorists to be responsible in driving and to capture would be criminals.
