City Social Welfare and Development Officer Carola Alquero reported to Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo that the City’s rescue teams and barangay officials evacuated and assisted 294 families in 11 barangays whose homes were flooded. Approximately 1, 133 persons were evacuated in the barangay halls, multi-purpose buildings, chapels, schools, etc.

Eleven houses were wiped out by floodwater while 8 were partially destroyed. Relief packs have been distributed to the victims while Mayor Remollo will release financial assistance to the flood victims provided all the requirements shall be met.

The affected barangays with the number of families affected are the following: Poblacion 2, 47 families; Poblacion 8, 99 families; Bantayan, 7; Batinguel, 21; Buñao, 12; Cadawinonan, 2; Camanjac, 3; Candau-ay, 15; Junob, 32; Tabuc-tubig, 39 and Bagacay, 7 families.

The social workers and engineers are in the field to collect and validate the extent of damage and affected individuals for further updates.
