City Chief-of-Police Supt. Jovito M. Atanacio said that crimes decreased from 777 incidents (in January 1- September 30, 2016) to just 465 in the same period January 1-September 30, 2017).

Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo welcomed the news, nevertheless he urged the City Police to intensify the campaign against crimes and to be more alert to secure the ongoing Buglasan Festival and upcoming Charter Day celebrations this November.

Of the 465 crime incidents (for the period January-September 2017) 209 cases were solved by the police registering 44.9% crime solution efficiency an improvement compared to just 40.5% for the same period (Jan-Sept. 2016) in which 315 of the 777 crime incidents were solved.
