Kabulakan Festival—A spectacular celebration that is no ordinary, a grandeur event in the month of May in the city of Dumaguete. In time of summer, the festival themes the colorful imagery of flowers displayed by the creative work of arts of the locals in the city. In the past years of Kabulakan Festival, the celebration lasts for ten days filled with different entertaining activities that is commenced by a dance competition with participants from the different barangayseach representing a type of flower.

Other features of the event are fireworks display, food fair, garden exhibit and landscape presentation, ballroom dancing, flower arrangement contest, and fashion presentation. The Festival was first introduced in the year 2007, organized by the Tourism Council of the city and it is ineluctably attracting and inviting both for the local and foreign tourists. This year’s Kabulakan Festival is scheduled in the entire month of May, intended to promote the tourism trade in the city even more.
