DUMAGUETE CITY- In-lined with the 113th Civil Service Month celebration, this month of September, The City Government of Dumaguete through the City Sports office will hold a R.A.C.E to serve Fun Run.
The fun run will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Quezon Park. The event is now on its second year.Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria will once again lead civil servants in this year’s run, while the City Sports and other city hall department heads will lead the warm up exercises.City Sports Officers Ike Villaflores said, the race feature only 5 kilometer run or walk, which are open for both men and women working at the City hall.
Villaflores said, the assembly time at 5:00 am at the Quezon, while gun start at 6am.
The route for the race will start at the Quezon Park infront of Kiwanis building along Sta.Catalina street, then straight northward to san Juan Street, turn left to Perdices Avenue, Cross Silliman Avenue and move towards north along Hibbard Avenue, then turn right to E.J drive and run towards East; turn right to Flores avenue (Hayahay restaurant) and straight southward; turn right at Colon street and turn right at Sta.Catalina street to finish line, Villaflores added
The winners will receive cash prizes and goods.
This year’s celebration with the theme, Tatak Lingkod Bayani: Isabuhay, Ipagmalaki at Ipagbunyi, aims to promote, showcase, and celebrate heroism in public service, and to highlight stories of triumph and sacrifice among the men and women in government. The activities lined-up will hopefully engage government officials and employees from all over the Philippines to participate in the spirit of fun, good health, good governance, and social consciousness, according to Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairman Francisco T.
